The Russian Agriculture, a Business Opportunity Not to Lose.

The agroindustry complex plays an important role in the Russian economy and is currently experiencing a period of active development.
 

It is driven by strong government support for domestic agricultural production as well as by an ambitious national goal of increasing food exports by 70 percent up to 2024.

Gross agricultural output in 2019 is estimated at approximately 5.8 trillion Rubles (about $90,6 billion), a 4% increase over 2018 year. The volume of sales in the local agricultural machinery market amounted to 175 billion Rubles in 2018.
 
At the same time, there are particular market opportunities for foreign suppliers in this industry.

The Russian agroindustry market remains highly dependent on imports, due to both the incomplete range of equipment produced in the country and the choice of consumers, based on the quality and design criteria, making a choice in favour of foreign products.

At the end of 2018, the share of imports on the domestic market of agricultural machinery was 40%. Also major foreign brands of agricultural machinery, such as CLAAS, John Deere and Case New Holland, have their own localized assembly plants in Russia.
